Dick had signed up to transform a shoddy, second rate outfit into 'The Best Team in the Land'.  The 'Good Old Boys' were already relegated to the Fourth Tier of the National Leagues when Dick arrived on the last day of their season. Team morale was at rock bottom, attendances were dwindling and the future of the club uncertain. Dick was going to have to perform miracles to turn things around.
